Previous Symposia

The Uddevalla Workshop started in 1998 as a 4 year co-operative research project at the Department for Studies of Work, Economics and Health at the University West (former University of Trollhättan/Uddevalla) and Jönköping International Business School at Jönköping University.

The purpose of the research project starting in 1998 was to carry out an assessment of European Union related regional policy initiatives in the so called "Fyrstadsregionen" ("The four cities region"). This region consists of Lysekil, Trollhättan, Uddevalla and Vänersborg and the smaller surrounding municipalities within these labour market (commuting) regions. Yearly international workshops were organized.

These workshops became very popular, and it was decided that they should continue. In the year of 2000 they changed format and name to the Uddevalla Symposium.

Now we are planning for the 16th Uddevalla Symposium 2013 on: "Innovation, High-Growth Entrepreneurship and Regional Development", June 13-15, hosted by Kauffman Foundation, Kansas City, MO, USA.

In the menue to the left you can find summaries of the previous Uddevalla Symposia.
