Project management is a large field of study that cannot be fully explored in just one course. In this overview course, we will at a basic level review project management from idea and initiation to completion and impact. The course consists of a short introduction to projects as a form of working and then it dives into the different parts of a project, i.e. pre-study, planning, execution, along with closure and impact realization. The starting point for the course is to facilitate students' transition from study to working life, since projects are common ways of working. Theoretical lectures are combined with creative creations of your own projects. The course can also form part of a 30 credits course package together with AIS100, Work Integrated Societal Studies, 15 HE credits.
Along the way you will learn key concepts, models and methods relevant to projects within the public sector and non-profit organizations. You will also learn and experience the importance of group dynamics and project organization for project implementation, as well as reflect upon processes for knowledge transfer, learning and communication related to projects. The course ends with an oral presentation of your own project.
